How to get your Google Chat webhook URL
- Open the Google Chat space where you want Groups Watcher alerts.
- Open space settings and create an incoming webhook.
- Name the webhook and save it for that space.
- Copy the webhook URL (it typically starts with
https://chat.googleapis.com/v1/spaces/).
Paste that URL when we ask for your notification channel (for example in onboarding or your Pro plan settings).
What we send to Google Chat
For each new Facebook group or page post, we send a structured message to your Google Chat webhook with:
- Summary message, for example "New post in [Group Name]"
- Group name and group URL
- Poster name and poster profile URL
- Post URL and post body
- Images/videos URLs when present
- Post type and timestamp
What you get in Google Chat
Once your webhook URL is configured, Groups Watcher sends each new Facebook group or page post to your chosen Google Chat space. Your team can quickly scan the post summary and click through to the original Facebook post when action is needed.

It is a URL Google Chat generates for a specific space. When Groups Watcher sends an HTTPS POST to this URL, Google Chat posts the message to that space.
